Cumbria Open League
Cumbria Chess Association runs two leagues; the Open League and the South League which is played on weekday evenings. Penrith teams play in the Cumbria Open League. Each team consists of 3 players (4 if both captains agree). Matches are scheduled for Saturdays but can be played on any day of the week, depending on the arrangements made by the teams taking part. The time allowed for each game is normally 2 hours per player for all moves for afternoon matches or 1 hour and 30 minutes per player in evening matches. League points are awarded as follows: 3 for a team win; 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.
